Discovery announced Thursday it was bringing back the show 'Dirty Jobs,' but will Mike Rowe make another appearance here in Minnesota?

If you're a fan of the Discovery show 'Dirty Jobs' with Mike Rowe, then Thursday was a very good day. The show, which debuted back in 2005 and ran through 2013, featured host Mike Rowe traveling around the country, spotlighting various jobs that, while essential, were oftentimes more than a little messy.

And Thursday, Discovery announced that they're rebooting the series and bringing the show back for another season! The announcement coincided with Mike's 59th birthday, as Discovery pointed out in a post on their Twitter page.

But will Mike Rowe make another appearance here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes in this new season of Dirty Jobs? He DID shoot several episodes here in Minnesota during the original run of the series. For instance, back in 2008, Mike and the crew happened to shoot an episode near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota where he helped salvage a car that had fallen through the ice on Pickerel Lake.

And then, Mike and the production crew were back in the North Star State three years later, in 2011, when he appeared in Moorhead and helped the Moorhead Public Service Department clean the water treatment plant there.

And then, there was the time Mike headed to Waubun, Minnesota (in the northwest part of the state) where he worked with the spent some time as a leech trapper-- emptying leech traps used to collect bait for fishing.

And, while he wasn't actually IN Minnesota, Mike (whose voice you might be familiar with as the narrator on the Discovery show 'Deadliest Catch,' which spotlights crab fishing in Alaska's Bering Sea) also did the voiceover (in his signature dramatic Deadliest Catch style) for a fan here in St. Paul.

However, according to a post on Mike's official Facebook page, he's already been busy shooting footage for episodes of the new season of Dirty Jobs (which is set to air sometime later this year)...but down in Georgia and Florida.

I wouldn't be surprised, though, if he DID end up shooting another episode here in Minnesota-- we have plenty of jobs to keep him dirty here, right? And, Minnesota has actually been home to several different big media productions over the years. Keep scrolling to check out 10 movies that were filmed on location right here.
