Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A well-known former Rochester funeral home operator has died.

The family of Daniel Macken, Sr. says he died Friday at St. Marys Hospital at age 92.

Macken was the owner and operator of Macken Funeral Home that was founded by his father in 1909. Macken joined the business in 1950 when it was located in the downtown ( 223 Fourth Street SW). After purchasing the business, Macken relocated to its current site near Mayo High School. He retired in 1992 and the business remains family-owned.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in The River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to his funeral Monday at the Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, which is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM.
