Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Mayo Clinic’s regional health system in southeast Minnesota is making some policy changes due to increasing Covid activity.

According to an update from Mayo, visitors will not be permitted in inpatient or emergency departments at its southeast Minnesota sites until further notice. One visitor will be permitted to accompany an outpatient.

Mayo says compassionate exceptions for inpatient care include one visitor for end-of-life patients, birth of a child and pediatric patients.

Mayo says the restrictions have been implemented “to protect the safety of patients and staff.”

The restrictions will not affect Rochester sites.
