Mantorville, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Dodge County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of this morning's apartment building fire in Mantorville.

A news release issued by Sheriff Scott Rose says 68-year-old Cynthia Ferguson died after a fire broke out in the Chestnut Apartments around 6:30 a.m.

At least five other people were transported to St. Marys Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and the Sheriff says two of them are believed to be in critical condition. No other information is available concerning their injuries.

Multiple fire departments from surrounding communities assisted the Mantorville Fire Department in battling the blaze in the 12 unit apartment building. It took about 90 minutes to bring the fire under control. Investigators from the State Fire Marshal's Office were summoned to the scene to help determine the cause.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the families displaced by the fire.
