Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The popular Thursdays Downtown event in Rochester is ending earlier today due to the threat of thunderstorms.

The Rochester Downtown Alliance says, after consulting with the National Weather Service and Rochester Police, it was decided to close this week’s festival now to allow everyone to safely leave the area by 3 PM. Forecasters indicated a strong possibility of lightning is expected to increase this afternoon and evening.

The RDA says Thursday’s Downtown will resume next Thursday at 11 AM.
