Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - We did it. The snow that fell on Rochester Sunday was a record.

The 4.2 inches recorded at the city's airport set a record for the date and it pushed the monthly total to 21.8 inches - making it the snowiest February on record for the city.
The previous February record of 20.1 inches was set in 2007.

And there’s more on the way.

The National Weather Service predicts the first round Tuesday night and Wednesday could produce 4-8 inches. The second round is expected Friday night and continuing into Saturday night. There is no prediction yet on how much snow we can expect from that storm. If these predictions hold, this could end up being one of the city’s snowiest months ever.

The expected new snow will add to the large piles on city boulevards and parking lots and don’t expect to see them shrink anytime soon. Temperatures are expected to remain below average most of this week. Rochester hasn’t been above freezing since Feb. 4th.
