Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochesterfest is looking for a new leader.

The Celebration of a City organization that runs the annual community festival today announced the upcoming departure of Rochesterfest Executive Director Brent Ackerman. After serving in the leadership position during the past four festivals, Ackerman is stepping down to take a new job as the Marketing and Sales Director for Rochester Civic Theater.

“It’s been an honor to have worked with so many outstanding volunteers and community partners who have been such a big part of Rochesterfest’s success these past four years,” Ackerman said.

Ackerman, who succeeded longtime Rochesterfest Executive Director Carol Brown in 2016, served for many years as a Rochesterfest volunteer, event chairperson and board member. He says he plans to remain with the festival in a similar capacity after he starts his new job on September 3rd.

The Celebration of a City Board of Directors, which oversees Rochesterfest, is currently seeking applicants for the executive director position.
