Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Slick roads sent a Rochester Transit Bus into a home in northeast Rochester Thursday evening.

The Rochester Fire Department reported the incident occurred around 6:30 PM at 1711 11th Avenue Northeast when the driver of the RPT tried to make it up the hill leading to the Northern Heights neighborhood and was forced to turn around because of the icy conditions. The driver then lost control and the bus slid off the road, hit a tree, and then struck the front deck on the home.

The driver and the lone passenger on the bus were not injured. The Fire Department says the windshield on the bus was broken and there was only superficial damage to the deck on the home.
