Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Tenants of a Rochester apartment complex were forced to relocate Thursday evening after the building was damaged by a motor vehicle.

The Rochester Fire Dept. says the van crashed into the side of a building at The Quarters complex at 834 21st Ave SE just before 7:30 pm Thursday.

RFD says the van crashed into the main electrical meters of the building and then went partially into a first-floor bedroom. RFD says because of the damage to the electrical service, the entire building had to be disconnected by Rochester Public Utilities.

RFD says there were no injuries.

RFD says although it was determined the building was not at risk of collapse, it was declared uninhabitable due to the damage and lack of power. It’s not known how many people were displaced but there are 12 units in the building.
