After receiving between 4 and 7 inches of rain last night, several parts of our area are still dealing with high water levels and flooding.  In Pine Island, it's so bad that their Fire Department has asked residents in certain areas to evacuate for safety.

ROAD CLOSURE AT 8TH ST SE, RODEO DRIVE SE, LILLE LANE SE AND THE TRAILHEAD PARK. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THROUGH STANDING WATER. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THE AREA IF POSSIBLE! !

At noon on Friday, they warned residents on their Facebook page with this message:

*URGENT:
PIFD AND CITY CREWS STRONGLY ENCOURAGE THOSE LIVING IN THE LILLIE LANE SE NEIGHBORHOOD TO EVACUATE AT THIS TIME DUE TO RISING WATERS ON THE SOUTH BRANCH OF THE ZUMBRO.

It's not just bad in Pine Island, a farmer in the Oxbow Park area reported losing 30- 40 head of cattle because of flooding.  There's evidence last night's rain and the flooding caused will linger into the weekend.  We hope everyone keeps themselves safe.
