I had my fingers and all of my toes crossed that our world would be a safer place by the end of August.  I've been working hard and getting ready for one of my favorite events at the end of August but unfortunately, that too has been canceled due to COVID-19.

Paul's Bacon Ride is one of my favorite things in our great state of Minnesota.  The event is a 45+ mile bike ride in the Brainerd, Mn area and the setting is just plain gorgeous.  There's also beer and bacon at every stop.  Yes, every, single, stop.

The small towns, lakes, and adorable shops and breweries located throughout make the ride doable and also enjoyable. (...the bacon does too!)

If you've read my stories or hang out with me on Facebook or Instagram, you've heard me chatting about a bunch of fun bike rides that I've tried in Iowa and Minnesota.  I have not attempted Ragbrai but have done a few offshoots of that, including an 80+ mile ride just West of Des Moines called the Bacoon Ride. (They have bacon there too...and lots of it!)  I've done that one several times and yes, it is long and it is usually really, really hot.  I've also done the Tour de Cure ride when it was in Rochester.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has canceled RAGBRAI, the Bacoon Ride, and now Paul's Bacon Ride.

One good thing out of all of this, you have an entire year to start riding and training so you can join me in 2021 for Paul's Bacon Ride.  Trust me...you will love it!

What event are you looking forward to the most in 2021?  Let me know over on my Facebook page (Jessica On The Radio) or DM me on Instagram.
