Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News) - Federal prosecutors say an Owatonna man was arrested last Friday on a charge of possession of an unregistered firearm as a result of an investigation into illegal gun deals.

A news release says the investigation against 22-year-old Dayton Sauke began in late July after the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office received information that he was selling narcotics and manufacturing in dealing firearms without a license. The charges say investigators began monitoring Sauke's Snapchat account and reported he made numerous posts described as "consistent with manufacturing in dealing firearms as well as using and dealing drugs." The charges against the Owatonna man also say he posted pictures of a short-barreled shotgun and made several threatening posts about killing law enforcement and politicians.

He was arrested on Friday after two undercover agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives met with him and arranged to purchase several firearms. The agents also recovered a sawed-off shotgun from Sauke's vehicle.
