Rochester Police Investigating Fatal Shooting (UPDATE)
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The person shot near the RCTC campus in southeast Rochester has died.
Rochester Police responded to the parking lot of The Quarters Apartments in the 800 block of 21st Avenue Southeast around 2 PM and found a male victim lying on the pavement and discovered he had been fatally shot. Reports indicated witnesses were able to provide police with a description of the suspect, who fled the scene on foot.
That person, described by Police as a person of interest, was later apprehended in the vicinity of the Oak Terrace Estates mobile home park. The names of the victim and the suspect have not been released.
Rochester Community and Technical College is reporting that Rochester Police have informed the school that a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a shooting near the campus this afternoon.
Rochester Police are investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon in the neighborhood west of the RCTC campus.
The latest reports indicate one person was shot and police are still looking for the shooter. The shooting was reported about 2 PM at the Quarters of Rochester apartments in the 800 block of 21st Avenue Southeast.
Information about the condition of the victim has not been released.
