Olmsted County Board to Vote on Purchase of Fisherman’s Inn
UPDATE (8/20/19 6:15 pm): Olmsted County Fisherman's Inn Purchase Approved
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – The Olmsted County Bounty board is scheduled to vote Tuesday on the proposed purchase of the Fisherman’s Inn site on Lake Zumbro.
The price is $750,000.
The purchase is needed to offset the expected sale of the Biermann House in the Mayowood area to Rochester businessman Joe Powers. The county bought that property with the help of government grants that required it be used for outdoor recreational purposes. The Fisherman’s Inn site would replace the Biermann property to satisfy the requirements of the grants.
The Fisherman’s Inn site consists of 3.17 acres on the western shore of Lake Zumbro and is adjacent to the County Park’s White Bridge Pier. It also includes a boat launch.
Negotiations to buy the site began several months ago.
