No One Can Stop Neil Young From Playing, No One
Neil Young is THE man. He played 4 shows this winter in Minneapolis and the shows by all accounts were unbelievable. Well, a California promoter recently learned the hard way that you can't stop Neil from rockin'. On Saturday the promoter for the BottleRock Napa Valley show shut off the power after Young failed to stop playing at 10 P.M. due to the locations noise curfew.
The San Francisco Chronicle stated that after power was cut to the speakers and video system "Young and his band Promise of the Real kept playing as the crowd jumped in and started chanting the chorus" to his finale of 'Keep on Rockin' In The Free World' Someone even put it up on Youtube. Check it out:
Right around the 8-minute marker, you hear the music stop with only the drums audible to the crowd. But the crowd keeps going for about two minutes before Neil recognizes the crowd and they wrap up.
This is nothing new to the festival as both the Foo Fighters and The Cure had the power shut off on them at the same venue. The reason for the noise curfew? The venue is located in a residential area. Lame.
