Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - 35 percent of Olmsted County residents are now at least partially vaccinated against COVID-19.

The latest numbers reported by the state indicate over 54,100 Olmsted County residents have been given at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Over 38,000, or almost 25 percent, are now fully vaccinated.

Across Minnesota, nearly 730,000 state residents have completed their vaccinations and over 1.265 million are at least partially vaccinated. The larger number represents about 24 percent of the state's population, while about 16-percent is now fully vaccinated against the viral illness.

The Minnesota Department of Health today reported 2 coronavirus-related deaths and 716 new infections. 9 of the new cases were found in Olmsted County. The statewide daily testing positivity rate was about 6.7 percent.
