More Than a Dozen Businesses Closed in Rochester in 2018
PERKINS - Both Perkins abruptly closed in early December. No word on what will take their place.
TOYS "R" US - Toys "R" Us confirmed in March that they were closing all of their U.S. stores after filing bankruptcy in 2017. Sadly, nothing has filled the location yet.
PRO-CUTS - The salon in the TJ-Maxx Plaza closed at the end of August because they didn't have enough stylists to keep it open, according to the manager.
O&B SHOES - After being a staple in Rochester since 1933, the owners closed both stores to retire this year.
COMPLETE NUTRITION - Without warning, the store was completely cleaned out and empty mid-August.
MARCOS PIZZA - Open and closed within a year. The Family video location didn't make the money corporate was hoping for.
PRARIE WALLS CLIMBING GYM - A quiet closing back in July.
CUSTOM COSTUMES - After 30 years in business, they called it quits this year.
COOKS PANTRY - They are still in the midst of their going-out-of-business sale.
FISH & PETS - The locally owned pet store closed earlier this year when the owners announced their plans for retirement.
Several stores in Apache mall: BEST BUY MOBILE, EVENSON'S HALLMARK SHOP, FOOTLOCKER. The mall has since been sold.
ROCHESTER DAYS INN & HOLIDAY INN - Both will be replaced with new DMC projects.
