There has been a post from the Brainerd Minnesota Neighborhood Watch & Happenings post that has gotten a lot of attention recently. The post is of an old, chipped, and somewhat rusted military ID, often referred to as a 'dog tag', that was found on a beach in Ireland recently. The person who posted to the group the photo was looking to get the tag back to a family member or relative of the person, and it seems like in less than a few days, a family member/relative was found and the tag is heading back to the United States.

The post I found about this military ID had been shared roughly 12,000 times and it was people's willingness that seems to have united the dog tag with a relative or family member.

I would love to know more about who is getting this piece of history, but if you've searched for a Jack Murray in Ireland you get a few choices, and he also blurred out the envelope.

A part of the envelope that wasn't scribbled out seemed to show the letters 'TA' so maybe it's coming back to someone in Minnesota? Do you know more about where the tag is going? Let me know so I can share the tags journey with others.

The spot where the dog tag was found, was near an old WWII Airfield, which doing some preliminary research was more than likely Greencastle Airfield in Kilkeel County. It's the only one I found that had US airmen on the base as it was an US airbase "as a Combat Crew Replacement Centre" according to wartimeni.com.

There are still missing children in Minnesota, let's help find these children and bring them home.
