According to court documents, Stimac was accused of entering the Red Lake Indian Reservation for the purposes of hunting and killing the black bear using a compound bow. The charges allege he returned the following day and used a saw to remove the bear's head, which he brought to a taxidermist to be made into a trophy. His actions attracted the attention of law enforcement officials after Stimac posted photos of himself posing with the bear's carcass on social media.
