A popular Twin Cities restaurant is getting ready to open a location right here in Rochester, and it's going to have a pretty cool feature.

If you've ever been to Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar in the Twin Cities (and there are eight different locations, in Maple Grove, Eden Prairie, Edina, Minneapolis, Mall of America, Roseville, Woodbury and St. Louis Park), you'll be excited to know the popular chain is getting ready to open a new location here in Rochester. (I've been to the Crave in the West End in St. Louis Park as well as the locations in Woodbury and the Galleria in Edina and LOVE their menu!)

According to Jeff Kiger in the Post Bulletin, the Rochester Crave is set to open in the former Holiday Inn building along South Broadway. That hotel is currently undergoing a massive renovation and will re-open early next year as the all-new Indigo Hotel. The new Rochester Crave location will be part of the new hotel, in a spot adjacent to the hotel lobby, the story noted.

And here's the best part: The new Rochester Crave location is being built with a retractable glass roof that will allow will move out of the way and allow you to enjoy our all-too-short outdoor dining season when it's nice. And it's all-glass construction will keep you warm and dry while giving you a bird's-eye view of the not-so-nice weather when it's snowing in the winter or raining in the spring, fall and summer.

The story says the new Rochester Crave's retractable roof will be similar to the one in place right now at Union Rooftop Bar & Grill in Minneapolis (which is WAAYY COOL, by the way). Rochester's Crave should be ready to start serving food and drinks sometime next spring. I'm looking forward to it!
