The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert for a spaghetti and meatballs meal sold at Kwik Trips because it may be contaminated with metal parts.

This isn't a recall, because they think they're all sold or out of date and off the shelves. But, maybe you bought it and it's in your fridge or freezer because the expiration date hasn't arrived for all of the run.

The meatballs were made October 1, 2020 and then used to make the spaghetti and meatball in marinara sauce meal from October 17th - November 1st, 2020. The specific info you need to see if the ones you have at home should be tossed is...

15.5-oz. plastic containers of “TAKE HOME MEALS SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS IN MARINARA SAUCE” with “10/17/20 - 11/1/20” packaging dates and an “EXP DATE 10/25/20 - 11/9/20” on the products labels. The products bear establishment number “EST. 20852” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Kwik Trip found out about the issue when people called to complain, though there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

If you have eaten the meal and are concerned about illness, get in touch with a health care provider. Also, if they're your fridge or freezer, toss them out or bring them to the Kwik Trip where you bought them.
