Major Power Outage in Northwest Rochester (UPDATED)

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - It's estimated that about 3400 homes and businesses were affected by a power outage in Rochester this afternoon.

It took about an hour for Rochester Public Utilities crews to restore power to the affected customers, who were mainly between 41st and 65th Streets. Most of the affected customers are west of Highway 52, but homes and businesses were also impacted in an area between 65th and 55th Streets on the east side of the highway.

RPU officials have yet to release any information on the cause of the outage.
