A gradual warmup is expected this week with highs approaching 30 Saturday.

As cold as it was in this part of the state Saturday, it was nothing compared to northern Minnesota.

Numerous records were set with lows in the minus 30s and 40s. The National Weather Service received a report of -50 near Ely, the coldest Minnesota temperature on record for Feb. 13.
