You may have noticed them already, but several power outages have occurred across Preston due to "galloping" lines.

According to the City of Preston, a number of momentary power outages due to galloping transmission lines. Galloping can occur on very windy days when ice forms on the lines. As the wind blows, the lines can bounce and occasionally touch each other leading to blinks or momentary power outages. The blinks should stop when the wind lessens this evening.
