St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Governor Tim Walz has ordered the lowering of state flags at all government facilities in Minnesota to honor the U.S. Capitol Police officers killed and wounded in Friday's attack.

The governor's order calls for the flags to remain at half-staff until sunset on Tuesday. The order also encourages the lowering of flags flown on property.

One of the officers was fatally wounded and another remains hospitalized with injuries caused by a man who rammed them with a car and then smashed into a concrete barrier at a secure entrance to the U.S. Capitol complex. The Associated Press reported the man then exited the vehicle wielding a knife and was fatally shot by officers at the scene.
