Did you know there's a Minnesota Garlic Festival? I didn't either! I guess it happens every August at the McLeod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Minnesota. It sounds like a stinky but delicious time.

I didn't know about this festival until a listener mentioned it on one of our Facebook Live videos. I LOVE garlic, so this sounds like a festival I'd enjoy. If a recipe calls for garlic I usually add a little extra if not double what the recipe says.

The Minnesota Garlic Festival has tons of family fun and features locally grown garlic, of course! On their website, they say that the festival "is the premier event for lovers of garlic, great local foods and good times!" There are games, celebrity chefs, live music, and local artisans.

Sadly, according to the Minnesota Garlic Festival website, the event is not happening this August (it was also canceled last year). But their annual Premium Garlic Directory will be available this year. With the directory, you'll find local garlic growers and be able to order tons of garlic! The directory will be available on the festival's website on August 1st.

So even though we won't be able to satisfy our love of stinky garlic at the Minnesota Garlic Festival this year, there's always next year to look forward to! You can check out past Garlic Festivals and stay updated on the latest Garlic Festival details on their website or Facebook page.

A garlic festival is definitely a unique way to experience garlic, but there's a unique way to experience another favorite food: pizza. You can stay the night on a pizza farm not far from Rochester! Keep scrolling for pictures.
