COVID-19: Schools Now Closed in Rochester and Elsewhere
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Another sign of the new normal caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic begins today. K-12 public schools in Rochester are now officially closed.
Public schools have been ordered to begin offering child care-like services to elementary students whose parents are emergency/health care workers. All other students will be away from their buildings until at least April 6th.
Rochester Public Schools Superintendent Michael Munoz says staff continues to work on plans to begin offering "distance learning" for all students due to the likelihood the closure will be extended beyond the current date (April 5).
