St Paul (KROC AM News) - The number of COVID-19 infected Minnesotans hospitalized in non-intensive care has fallen to the lowest number in more than two months.

The Minnesota Dept. of Health Sunday reported 145 non-ICU patients as of Saturday. That was the same number as Friday and is the lowest since the 133 total on April 22. 

The number of ICU patients is also at its lowest point in nearly two months. The Saturday figure of 143 was the lowest since the 135 total on May 2nd.

The daily MDH COVID-19 report shows 523 new cases were confirmed Saturday, raising the overall total to 35,549. 

More than 15,000 tests were reported Saturday, increasing the state’s overall total to 585,000. 

For an 8th straight day, the Saturday death total was in the single digits at eight. The state’s overall death total has risen to 1425.
