Wabasha, MN (KROC AM News) -The owner of an area fitness center is scheduled to square off Tuesday in court with the Minnesota Attorney General’s office.

He is also getting financial assistance from complete strangers.

A lawsuit was filed last week against Plainview Wellness Center after its owner/operator refused to shut down under the recent COVID order issued by Gov. Tim Walz.

A hearing is scheduled at 10:00 AM in Wabasha County Court on a request by the AG to issue a temporary restraining order to force the business to close.

Attorney General Keith Ellison says this is the first enforcement action his office has brought under the latest COVID order.

Meanwhile, a fundraising campaign has been started to help owner Brandon Reiter pay his legal expenses.

His business Facebook page is also drawing comments of support.
