Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Temperatures fell to the freezing mark across parts of southeast Minnesota Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, cities reporting lows of 32 degrees included Dodge Center, Preston and Rochester. Faribault and Owatonna had lows of 34 degrees. 

For Rochester, it was the coldest day in May since May 15, 2016 when the temperature dropped to 31 degrees.

Even colder weather is expected across the region Saturday with temperatures falling into the upper 20s.

After an expected wet and cool Mother’s day weekend, another round of frosty temperatures is possible Monday and Tuesday mornings. Below normal temperatures are expected to continue into all of next week.
