Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Insurance adjusters in Minnesota are likely facing a very busy week. The Minnesota State Patrol says, from noon Friday through 1 am. Sunday, troopers have responded to over 400 traffic crashes, over 900 vehicle spin outs and 17 jackknifed semi-trucks statewide. So far, there has been one fatality and over 50 injuries were reported, although only two of the injuries were rated as serious.

Several of the injury crashes occurred in southeastern Minnesota. The most recent occurred just before noon on Sunday on Highway 52 at the I-90 interchange. The State Patrol says 36-year-old Jennings Fortsner of Rochester was driving north when his SUV collided with a southbound semi-truck turning left onto I-90. Fortsner and two passengers, 6-year-old Alyza Forstner and 9-year-old Maizey Forstner, were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 20-year-old Rochester man was also transported to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 52 in Rochester this morning. The State Patrol says Mohamed Yusuf was driving south when he lost control and his car crashed into the concrete median barrier just north of Apache Mall around 8 am.

A 3-year-old child was among the 4 people were taken to the hospital in Owatonna following a rollover crash on I-35 in Freeborn County. The State Patrol says a total of 6 people were in an SUV driven by a 25-year-old Des Moines Iowa woman when she lost control and crashed near Ellendale around 5:30 pm yesterday. The four injured passengers are also from Des Moines and were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

About 30 minutes earlier, a young woman from Rochester was hurt in a crash on Highway 52 near Cannon Falls. The State Patrol says 21-year-old Olga Meillier was driving south when she lost control and crashed into a guardrail. She was brought to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while her two passengers were not hurt.
