Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman was kicked in the face and robbed late Tuesday night while walking home.

The  33-year-old woman says she was walking near the intersection of 18th Ave and 41st St NW around 11:30 when she noticed three males behind her. The woman says she became nervous and while she was still walking, called her sister. That’s when the woman says she was pulled backward and fell.

The woman says as she struggled to hang onto her purse, one of the men kicked her in the face. The woman says one of the men opened her purse and took several hundred dollars in cash and her debit card.

When the men left, the woman found her phone but it was broken so she walked home to call 911. The woman told officers the men were thin, tall and appeared to be in their late teens or early 20’s. She also said it sounded like they were speaking Somali.

News update:  A woman may be charged for making a “swatting” call to Rochester police.
