We've known it all along, but now it really is true. A new national survey has just ranked  Minnesota as one of the Top 10 Fun States in America. Well, duh, right?

Sure, we might gripe about the weather here-- whether's it too cold, too snowy, or too hot and humid in the summer-- but Minnesota is a really fun place to live. Our state has some incredible natural beauty, and our cities and towns all boast some cool, fun cultural activities too.

All those things combined helped to rank the Land of 10,000 Lakes as the #10 Most Fun State in America, according to a new survey by WalletHub.com. Their survey "compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of a jolly good time that won’t break the bank. They range from movie costs to accessibility of national parks to casinos per capita," the site said.

Minnesota scored high in categories like Most Performing-Arts Theatres Per Capita, Highest Variety of Arts, Entertainment and Recreation Establishments, plus Shoreline Mileage (from our 10,000 lakes-- with a big boost from Lake Superior.)

Overall, the state that ranked #1 and is the Most Fun State in America was California. (Which is hard to argue, what with California's massive coastline, beaches, stunning redwood forests, big cities and more.) Rounding out the top 10 were New York (not sure I agree, though it IS tough to compete with New York City's nightlife), Nevada (Las Vegas, anyone?), Florida, Illinois, Washington, Texas, Colorado, and Pennsylvania.
